Outcome (2026-09-01): Ian walked in — they have a working successor site at thaimarina.net (which doesn't rank; the dead .co.nz holds the citations) and the owner's brother runs it. Polite no; door open. Kept as portfolio — the dark-build fingerprint.
LessonProbe alternate TLDs before calling anything a rescue, and ask who runs their web presence — family-member webmaster is a soft no regardless of demo quality.

Owner Janette = NZ Master Groomer, the first on the Kāpiti Coast — the trust hook. Appointment-only in Waikanae; the demo deliberately prints no street address (her two stale listed addresses ARE the search-visibility problem the site solves).

- Layout QA done 2026-07-22 (headless Chrome, 390px mobile-emulated + 1280px): no overflow, hero/CTAs/nav all clean. Aesthetic call is still yours.
- Needs you specifically: photo pass via your logged-in Chrome — harvest Janette's own FB grooming photos + profile-pic logo.
- Confirm on visit day: still trading + exact phone — 021 0263 3206 from businessdirectory.co.nz, but a second listing renders it differently.

Built 2026-07-25 (1P-63) · Clash Display + Satoshi, THEIR red on ink + warm paper · ~25 of their own job photos + the sunrise hero (they like it — it stays). Round 2 (Ian's client notes): coverage is now "lower North Island"; nav is Plant Maintenance · Milking Sheds · Machine Shop · General Engineering · Contact (Pipework folded into General Engineering with its capability table and gallery; old URLs 301); postal address 38 Sansons Road, Rongotea; breakdown line 027 433 3045 now public (util bar, footer, contact, every agreements paragraph reworded to "priority", not "secret number"); all builder notes removed; case studies reframed as "how a typical job runs" with no invented client or numbers.
Recheck processdemos/qa-check.sh demos/valentine-engineering — links, anchors, assets, nav parity, leftover-wording lint, noindex — plus 390px iframe overflow probe and 390/1280 screenshots. All clear this round. Open: form submission (needs a Pages Function → their O365 mailbox; see chat/1P-63).

Review checklist (per demo, ~3 min each)
- Phone first: open on your phone — first screen, then scroll the whole homepage looking for overflow or cramped sections.
- Tap the phone number — every demo should offer to dial.
- Read the placeholders — do the [bracketed notes] read as honest and professional, never as unfinished?
- Squint test: put any two demos side by side — could they be from the same template? (They shouldn't.)
- Say the kick-off line out loud — does it sound like you?
- Note anything that jars — one line per demo is plenty; I'll take the list and fix in a batch.
